It also discusses how denial of these services during prison stays and drug court sentences can be a form of discrimination against those with a substance abuse disorder.

  • This article presents research on the fact that, though MAT has been shown to be clinically effective in helping treat addiction, it has not be adopted widely yet. It also discusses policy and procedure gaps in the diffusion of MAT services and lack of access to prescribing physicians.
